Aditi Dixit is a PhD candidate in social and economic history at Utrecht University. Her research is on the socio-historical determinants of the divergence between Indian and Japanese textile industry in the late 19th and early 20th century. Aditi has an MA and MPhil in development studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and has worked with various research organisations on socio-economic changes in underdeveloped economies. Her previous research work included gendered employment, informality, labour markets, and budgetary allocations and state welfare policy.
